The tourist office and the Compagnie des deux rives boat suggest you will lead you onto a unique experience of Vauban's works. Louis XIV had a three piece fort built to protect from "Brtitish invaders".

 

From April to June, and from September to October (Saturdays) either with your own family or with friends.

at 11:00am : a guided tour of the citadel to understand Vauban's conception about protecting the area
at 3:00pm : a boat trip with La compagnie des deux rives to get a different view about the bolt ant the other two forts (Fort Pâté and Fort Médoc)

 

From July to August (Tuesdays and Thursdays) either with your own family or with friends.
at 11:00am, 2:00pm or 5:00pm : a guided tour of the citadel to understand Vauban's conception about protecting the area
at 3:30pm : a boat trip with La compagnie des deux rives to get a different view about the bolt ant the other two forts (Fort Pâté and Fort Médoc)

Other departures are organised from Pauillac to visit the citadel of Blaye.

June to September, a 4 hours trip on a speed boat to visit the opposite bank named the Médoc. Visit Château Tour de Castillon, Médoc Cru Bourgeois with wine tasting and enjoy a typical convivial picnic with local products.

The speed boat Au Fil de l’Eau and la Sardane offer a guided boat trip on the Gironde estuary. Discover the islands, the typical landscapes and the largest estuary in Europe thanks to a captain. A trip from either Blaye, St Ciers sur Gironde, Pauillac, Cubzac les Ponts or St Christoly of Médoc to be taken either on one's own or with family or friends.

Departures April to September from Blaye pontoon below the citadel.

Cruising the Gironde every Tuesday at 6:30pm from July to Agust for a 60 minutes trip. A wine-grower welcomes you on board and have you taste his own wines.

The Gens d'estuaire boat offers a day trip to discover two estuary islands : île Nouvelle and île Pâtiras.

Take a break... île Pâtiras invites you to visit a lightehouse and enjoy a snack at leisure and île Nouvelle tells you about its history, its former inhabitants and shows you its wildlife (have a picnic with you).

Departure from Blaye pontoon at 10:00am and back at 5:30pm : July 1st and August 31st on Wednesday

The organistation "Gens d’estuaire" offer a diner or a lunch you can share with families or friends on île Pâtiras in summer every Friday. A convivial and original friday evening·with·the menu·served at a·table or a buffet supper,·both·with products coming from the islands. Departures in·July and August·and for groups all the year round·.Also, you can just make an escapade on Patiras island to visit the lightehouse and take a break
